Construction Contract Administrator (CCA)

We are currently looking for a Construction Contract Administrator (CCA) to join our growing New Orleans-based studio.

About the Job

The position requires an intimate knowledge and thorough understanding of AIA Construction Contracts and requirements, applicable codes, schedule monitoring and an understanding of materials, methods and processes of commercial construction. Candidate is expected to be a team player, has the responsibilities of a project manager during the course of construction administration, and acts as the primary representative for the design team.

Responsibilities

Perform the Architect’s duties stated in AIA A201 General Conditions for Construction including but not limited to field observation and visits, submittals, project correspondence, payment applications, RFIs, interpretation of both contract documents and performance of the work, punch list creation, closeout document review. Responsible for conducting meetings with contractors, clients, agencies and project representatives, as well as obtaining, verifying, processing, documenting and maintaining records relevant to a project, including but not limited to claims, change proposals and change orders.

Manage the day-to-day activities and communications among EDR and its consultants, the Contractor, and the Owner.

Understand and enforce contractual obligations of all parties including requirements of the contract and monitoring compliance.

Responsible for keeping the Owner and project team informed of the status of the project, including contract status, compliance, modifications, potential claims and legal risks.

Ensure that all potentially legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly.

Evaluate cost and price proposals and provide recommendations to the Owner.

Responsible for promoting and ensuring the design intent during the construction process.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field required.

8+ years of experience performing construction administration OR experience operating as the project manager for a general contractor or owner’s representative for the construction phase of commercial construction projects.

Physical ability requirements for active construction project sites include, but aren’t limited to: climb up and down ladders; stoop, kneel, and crouch; ability to walk long distances and stand for periods of time indoors and outdoors; candidate is responsible for their own protective footwear.


Preferred:

Experience on projects ranging in size from $5M to $80M

Experience with REVIT

Experience with Bluebeam / Adobe

Experience with cloud-based construction software (Procore, Submittal Exchange, PlanGrid, etc.)
