Specifications Writer
Mohan is an experienced specifications writer, with over 30 years of diverse professional experiences in various industries. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado at Denver (plus a minor in international affairs with a focus on cultural anthropology), Mohan spent a majority of his career with the Colorado Department of Transportation working as the Program Coordinator for the state’s Specifications Program. This, coupled with his background in engineering, has culminated in an immense appreciation for specifications as an art. As Mark Twain said, “…putting the right word in the right place is a rare art,” and Mohan is inspired to live by his words.
After he and his family moved the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area in 2018, Mohan applied his specifications writing expertise to the architecture industry, which he describes as “the ideal mix of science and artistry, blending time-honored engineering and construction principles with innovation and vivid imagination.” He affectionately refers to this fusion as “magic.”
While he enjoys writing specs and converting creative ideas into realistic language, he has many interests outside the office, especially classical music, freestyle writing, classic movies, and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
