Amanda Rivera is a highly experienced architect with a passion for designing spaces that foster community and elevate the human experience. With over two decades in the field, she has led diverse and impactful projects across urban and institutional environments, consistently bringing a holistic and thoughtful approach to every phase of design. Amanda’s ability to balance technical precision with creative vision has earned her recognition as a leader in the profession, known for her commitment to sustainable, functional, and aesthetically compelling architecture that serves both public and private sectors.
Having previously served as University Architect at Tulane University, Amanda brings a unique perspective that blends the architectural viewpoint with a deep understanding of the client’s needs. In this role, she was instrumental in implementing the university’s Master Plan across its Uptown and Downtown campuses in New Orleans. Some of her most notable projects include leading the transformation of Crescent Park in New Orleans, the Home Building at Thaden School, and the renovation of New Orleans East Hospital. As President of the AIA New Orleans chapter and a member of the city’s Historic District Landmarks Committee - Architectural Review Committee (HDLC ARC), Amanda’s leadership extends beyond her projects into active community engagement, resulting in accolades such as the AIA Louisiana Professional Achievement Award and recognition as a Gambit Weekly 40 Under 40 honoree.
